Sampdoria has announced a significant reorganization of its sports area in preparation for the upcoming season. The blucerchiati club has reached an agreement with Américo Branco, an experienced Portuguese, for his appointment as sporting director, subject to the completion of the formalities required by the Figc. Additionally, Lorenzo Ariaudo has been promoted to the role of technical director, while Mattia Stante will take on the role of team manager. José Manuel Barbosa Alves will be the new coordinator of the scouting area. Branco, 35, has a solid background in sports management, having worked in Portugal and the Netherlands with clubs like Olhanense and Fortuna Sittard. Ariaudo, a former defender with experiences in teams like Juventus and Cagliari, is advancing further after three seasons as team manager. Stante, coming from Ternana, and Barbosa Alves, a former Portuguese player, complete the new management team. Jesper Fredberg, CEO of the Football area, stated that the goal is to build a solid sports management to face the new season and plan for an ambitious summer transfer market.
